Cobram Football Netball Club will receive a major $7.5 million upgrade under an elected Liberals and Nationals Government, supporting a significant redevelopment of the clubrooms at Scott Reserve.
The Nationals’ Member for Ovens Valley Tim McCurdy announced the $5.75 million commitment in Cobram today, alongside a $1.7 million contribution from Moira Shire Council and $50,000 from Cobram Football Netball Club, bringing the total project investment to $7.5 million.
Mr McCurdy thanked Moira Shire Council for its significant contribution and support in helping deliver this important project for the Cobram community.
Mr McCurdy said the investment will give players, volunteers and families the modern facilities they deserve.
“Cobram Football Netball Club is a huge part of this community, and I’m proud that an elected Liberals and Nationals Government will help deliver this important upgrade,” Mr McCurdy said.
“Our local sporting clubs bring people together, support our young people and create a real sense of community.
“This investment will give Cobram FNC the facilities it needs to continue growing and providing opportunities for players, volunteers and families for years to come.”
The redevelopment will deliver a new pavilion featuring two AFL-compliant unisex change facilities, unisex umpire facilities, two Netball Victoria-compliant change facilities, first aid and trainer rooms, accessible amenities and storage.
The project will also include a large multipurpose function room, kitchen and cool room to support club activities, community events and functions.
Mr McCurdy said the $7.5 million project was a strong example of what could be achieved through government, council and community working together to deliver for regional Victoria.
