The Nationals’ Member for Eastern Victoria Region, Melina Bath, is calling on the community to get behind families doing it tough by donating nappies to The Nappy Collective.
Ms Bath said her office is proud to serve as a local collection point, helping ensure unused and new nappies reach babies and toddlers whose families are struggling to afford essentials.
“Every week, my office hears from local people experiencing financial pressure,” Ms Bath said.
“For many, the rising cost of living is forcing heartbreaking choices and no parent should have to choose between buying food or buying nappies.”
Since 2013, Australians have donated more than 10 million nappies through The Nappy Collective, helping thousands of families facing crisis, homelessness, or financial hardship.
Ms Bath said that in tough times, the generosity of locals becomes more meaningful as local donations go straight back into our local community.
“The beauty of this project is in its simplicity as many households have leftover packs their children have grown out of and donating them makes an immediate difference for another family.
“Nappies collected through my office are passed to local charities and community groups who supply local families requiring support.
“My office in Franklin Street, Traralgon, is easy to access and every packet donated, big or small, helps.
“Our region has a proud history of looking out for one another, supporting The Nappy Collective is a simple act that brings real relief to families and I thank locals for showing kindness in times of need.
Please drop nappy donations to Melina Bath MP office, 181 Franklin Street, Traralgon.
