One of Gippsland’s newest retirement living facilities has just welcomed its 100th resident to Paynesville.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester has welcomed the continued growth of Palm Lake Resort, describing the development as a major investment in East Gippsland that is attracting new residents and supporting the local economy.
Residents of the 54 homes in the current stage of the development include Gippslanders down-sizing from larger properties, as well as people who have relocated from elsewhere in Victoria and interstate.
“Palm Lake Resort is a significant vote of confidence in Paynesville and the broader Gippsland Lakes region,” Mr Chester said.
“As more people choose to live here, they are also supporting local businesses, tradespeople, hospitality venues and service providers.
“That means more investment, more economic activity and more people becoming part of our local community.”
The over-50s lifestyle resort offers five three-bedroom home designs and an extensive range of sporting, recreational and social facilities for residents and their guests.
Mr Chester said he was impressed by the scale and quality of the development.
“The facilities are outstanding and it is easy to see why people are choosing East Gippsland for the next stage of their lives,” Mr Chester said.
“The resort gives residents opportunities to stay active while also enjoying everything the region has to offer.
“It was terrific to meet some of the residents and see firsthand the investment being made in Paynesville.”
