Grassroots sporting clubs across the Euroa electorate are encouraged to apply for funding through the 2019-2020 Sporting Club Grants Program.
Euroa MP Steph Ryan said local sporting clubs wishing to upgrade equipment, buy new uniforms and increase the skills of their coaches, officials and managers are eligible to apply under the program, which is split into four different categories.
“Programs like this are designed to ensure all Victorians can enjoy the benefits of participating in sport and active recreation,” Ms Ryan said.
“Our local sporting clubs and associations help keep our local community connected and healthy.
“Being involved in community sport is a great outlet for everyone, where you can make new friends while improving your own health and wellbeing at the same time.
“We are lucky to have the a to z of sports across our region, from archery to the occasional zorbing competition!
“Whether your club is looking for new uniforms, or upskilling for coaches and volunteers, these grants are a great way of keeping sport strong in our region.”
The program provides funding of up to:
- $5000 for training for coaches, officials and volunteers
- $5000 to improve operational effectiveness
- $2000 to address barriers that indigenous athletes face in terms of participation in sport and active recreation
- $1000 for new uniforms and equipment
Applications are now open and close on 18 February 2020.
