BETTER, SAFER ROADS IN REGIONAL VICTORIA
$5 BILLION TO FIX OUR ROADS
The Nationals will allocate $5 billion to repair and rebuild Victoria’s roads, eliminating one million potholes and re-establishing a proper, planned system of preventative maintenance. This funding is locked in through our Fair Share Guarantee, so regional roads are no longer neglected in favour of Melbourne’s Big Build projects.
BUILT TO LAST, NOT PATCHED AND FORGOTTEN
Once elected, The Nationals will enforce tough new standards and hold construction companies accountable. We’ll work with road builders to make sure repairs are done right the first time, not quick patches that fail with the first rain. And if a road is crumbling again just weeks after it was repaired, the company responsible fixes it at their cost, not yours.
STOP THE WASTE AND END THE CORRUPTION ON MELBOURNE MEGA-PROJECTS
Regional roads have been neglected while more than $50 billion has been blown on Melbourne mega-project cost overruns. The Nationals will stop the waste in Melbourne and fix the roads in the regions, prioritising the basics that matter to daily life, like local roads, potholes and safety, so projects are chosen on merit.
BUILDING BETTER, SAFER ROADS
The Nationals will end the waste on Melbourne mega-projects and redirect $5 billion into repairing and rebuilding our roads, eliminating one million potholes and enforcing tough new construction standards, so roads are fixed properly, not patched and forgotten.
