People rely on safe roads every day to get to work, transport goods, take children to school and travel between towns. These roads help keep local economies moving.
But many regional roads are deteriorating, with potholes, safety hazards and delayed maintenance becoming increasingly common.
Poor road conditions do not just damage vehicles. They can put lives at risk and hold back regional communities.

Honestly, the roads around here are shocking. Potholes everywhere, and after it rains, some bits are just a mess. My car’s suspension has copped it big time. Feels like no one’s really looking after these roads.

Driving to Melbourne a few times a week is stressful enough, but the road between Warragul and the city? Terrible. Narrow, full of holes, and signs barely readable. Feels like we’re lucky if we make it without a flat tyre.

Some of the back roads are awful. The school bus has to crawl along at 20km/h on some stretches. It takes forever to get anywhere. Makes you wonder if regional towns even get considered when they hand out road funding.

I run a small freight business and these roads are a nightmare. Deliveries take longer, trucks break down more, and costs just keep piling up. Roads out of Bendigo need some serious love before it hits us even harder.
