The Heathcote Agricultural Society will receive $100,000 to upgrade its pavilion and showground facilities, including the kitchen, under the Liberal and Nationals’ Fair Share Guarantee.
The Nationals Member for Euroa, Annabelle Cleeland, said the investment would help improve facilities used by the community and support the ongoing work of the Agricultural Society.
“Local agricultural societies play an important role in bringing communities together and showcasing the people, industries and produce that make our region what it is,” Ms Cleeland said.
“The Heathcote showgrounds are an important community asset, and this funding will help ensure the facilities continue to meet the needs of the people who use them.
“Upgrading the pavilion and kitchen will make a real difference for the volunteers and community groups who work hard to keep these grounds active.”
Ms Cleeland said the $100,000 commitment was part of the Liberals and Nationals’ Fair Share Guarantee, which would ensure at least 25 per cent of new Victorian Government infrastructure investment went to regional Victoria.
“Our regional communities deserve their fair share of investment.
“For too long, communities across regional Victoria have been left fighting for the infrastructure and facilities they need.
“The Fair Share Guarantee is about making sure regional communities are not overlooked and that local organisations like the Heathcote Agricultural Society get the support they deserve.”
