It’s clear Daniel Andrews has sought to doctor Ken Lay’s report into a second injecting room in Melbourne all because the draft finding that a second one isn’t needed doesn’t suit his agenda.
Mr Andrews is tangled in his own web of spin, stating there is no report on a second injecting room and yet today the public learns that Lay provided a report late last year.
It is reported that the draft report did not find an “immediate need” for a second injecting room in the city.
Mr Lay was then reportedly asked by the State Government to gather new information, including ambulance call-out data.
It’s also reported that Mr Lay did not consult with businesses likely to be affected in Melbourne’s CBD on the excuse of the stress of COVID.
There is no doubt, that if he is re-elected, Mr Andrews will open a second injecting room in Melbourne’s CBD, based on Labor’s failed North Richmond trial.
The only way to avoid an injecting room in Melbourne’s CBD is to vote Liberal and National on 26 November.
