Nationals Member for Ovens Valley Tim McCurdy spoke in Parliament concerning the Andrews Government lack of support towards local business owners across the Ovens Valley.
Mr McCurdy said, “I was recently contacted by a business owner from the Wangaratta region who is seeking vaccination mandates to be scrapped because of the difficulties they face with finding staff.
“This business owner is grappling on to any last chance of hope to ensure their business can keep afloat.”
He continued, “The problem here is not about vaccination; the problem is Premier Andrews has placed desperate business owners like the latter in a desperate situation where they can no longer get staff or support provided by the Government in substitution of not being able to find workers.
“Business owners need support now more than ever, as they continue to face staff shortages due to vaccination mandates, isolation requirements and so forth.”
Mr McCurdy concluded: “I call on the Victorian Government to help our businesses get back on their feet.”
