Last week in Parliament Nationals Member for Ovens Valley Tim McCurdy highlighted the lack of investment and desperately needed upgrades for regional hospitals in our smaller country towns across the Ovens Valley.
In Parliament Mr McCurdy said, “The 2019-2020 Budget estimates around $630.6 million dollars has been allocated towards small rural services across Victoria.
“But yet, when we look to towns like Cobram, Yarrawonga, Myrtleford and Bright, it appears this funding comes short and is designated solely to Labor-held seats.”
He continued, “It’s time the Victorian Government step out of its own Melbourne bubble and focus on assisting and supporting not only metropolitan hospitals, but our small rural and regional hospitals and communities.”
Mr McCurdy will continue to push for more funding this May 2022 Budget for our smaller country towns and their hospital facilities.
