The Nationals’ Member for Mildura, Jade Benham, is encouraging local secondary schools, community organisations and social enterprises to apply for the latest round of Future Ready grants, aimed at helping young people build skills, confidence and connections for life beyond school.
The two-year grants range from $24,000 to $168,000 and support programs that help young people build confidence, develop leadership skills, gain practical experience and explore future career pathways.
Ms Benham said the funding could help local organisations deliver programs that create meaningful opportunities for young people across the region.
“Whether it’s mentoring, volunteering, leadership development or work experience, these programs can help young people build skills and confidence while opening doors to future opportunities.”
“Regional young people deserve the same opportunities as their metropolitan counterparts, and programs that are designed and delivered locally are often the most effective because they reflect the needs of the community.”
Local grant recipients have included Red Cliffs Secondary College, which delivered a five-day Job Camp focused on qualifications needed for employment in the construction and hospitality industries.
“I encourage eligible organisations to consider applying and applicants seeking a letter of support are welcome to contact my office,” Ms Benham said.
Applications close on 24 June 2026, with successful programs to run from Term 1, 2027 to Term 4, 2028.
