A Nationals and Liberals Government will fund a comprehensive masterplan to guide future infrastructure upgrades within the Beulah Learning Precinct.
The masterplan would consider future infrastructure requirements for the Primary school, including construction of a new kinder, restoration of the existing school building and improvements to the grounds and playground.
The Nationals’ Member for Mildura, Jade Benham, said Beulah needed to act now to ensure its school infrastructure kept pace with the growing community.
“We need a long-term plan for the future of the whole site. The school is more than 100 years old and needs significant restoration work, while the grounds and playground have also had little investment in recent years.
“Beulah is a growing community and we need to make sure the infrastructure is there to support the families who are choosing to live here.
“Country kids count too, and communities like Beulah should not be overlooked when government investment is being made in education infrastructure.”
Shadow Minister for Education, Brad Rowswell, said education was fundamental to the future of regional communities.
“We need to make sure our schools have the facilities to support the children who attend them,” Mr Rowswell said.
“This masterplan will help identify the priorities for the school and provide a clear plan for future investment.”
Ms Benham said the masterplan formed part of The Nationals’ Fair Share Guarantee, which would ensure regional Victoria receives at least 25 per cent of new Victorian Government infrastructure investment.
“Beulah is exactly the kind of growing regional community that needs to see its future infrastructure needs recognised when decisions are made about government investment.
“Only The Nationals and Liberals in government will deliver a fair share and make sure regional communities like Beulah get their fair share of infrastructure investment.”
