Community groups across the Wimmera and southern Mallee have the opportunity to secure grants of up to $50,000 for a range of projects.
Round 3 of the state government’s Tiny Towns Fund opened today, and offers grants between $5000 and $50,000 to support projects that enhance tourism, liveability, and community pride in towns with populations of 5000 residents or less.
Member for Lowan and Deputy Leader of The Nationals, Emma Kealy, said the fund was a fantastic opportunity to secure money for projects such as hall upgrades, sporting club improvements, playgrounds or streetscape works.
“These grants have already made a positive impact on various community-driven initiatives, and I’m eager to see more proposals from the Lowan electorate in this round,” she said.
“Applicants are required to contribute up to 20 per cent of the proposed project budget, which can be a combination of financial and in-kind support.
“This fund is a fantastic opportunity for small communities to unlock funding that can make a lasting difference in their towns.”
Previous recipients in Tiny Towns Fund rounds earlier this year include Goroke Recreation Reserve Committee, Hindmarsh Shire Council, Horsham Golf Club, Horsham Rural City Council, Lake Marma Reserve Committee of Management in Murtoa, West Wimmera Shire Council, Wimmera Kart Racing Club, and Yarriambiack Shire Council.
Applications for round 3 close on February 4, 2026, and can be made at rdv.vic.gov.au/grants/tiny-towns-fund
