Letter to the editor
Dear Editor,
Premier Jacinta Allan and Health Minister Mary-Anne Thomas promised Victorians there would be no health mergers.
However, the autonomy of our local hospitals and patient care is now being put at risk as the Labor Government rolls out “local health service networks.”
Make no mistake, these are mergers, just under another name. After 10 years of Labor, regional Victorians can see through their spin.
Labor’s centralised model removes local knowledge and expertise from our local hospitals.
Regional Victorians deserve healthcare that is run by locals who know and understand the needs and challenges of their local people.
The Nationals will continue to fight for our local hospitals and health professionals while ensuring patients can access care close to home.
Labor can’t manage money, can’t manage health and Victorians are paying the price.
Danny O’Brien MP
Leader of The Nationals
