Rising rates of violence within Victorian hospitals further highlights the need for the Liberals and Nationals real solution PSO plan to keep healthcare staff and patients safe.
New figures today show an average of 15 incidents of violence against health workers are reported every week – almost a doubling of rates only 3 years ago.
As part of the Liberals and Nationals plan to fix the health crisis, a Guy Government will trial locating PSO’s in mobile stations outside five of Victoria’s largest and busiest hospitals.
This plan will allow for an almost immediate response to calls for assistance from hospitals, meaning better support for existing security teams and a safer environment for all.
Shadow Minister for Health, Georgie Crozier, said that for years the Andrews Labor Government has failed to act on rising rates of occupational violence within our hospitals.
