NATIONALS APPOINT ACTING STATE DIRECTOR
The Nationals Victoria has appointed Jake McKenzie-Edwards as Acting State Director.
State Director, Lyndel Feery, recently announced she is expecting her second child and will take maternity leave from December.
Mr McKenzie-Edwards has worked with The Nationals in various roles over the past seven years. He comes with a range of state and federal campaigning experience, including a senior role with the NSW Nationals during the 2025 federal election.
Mr McKenzie-Edwards said he was excited to be assuming the role and was looking forward to building on The Nationals Victoria’s success from previous campaigns.
“I’m coming into the role at a time when a change of government in Victoria is more important than ever,” Mr McKenzie-Edwards said.
“With our party members, MPs and staff, The Nationals have a fantastic team that will continue to proudly represent regional Victorians and the challenges they face.”
State President, Jo Armstrong, said she was thrilled with Mr McKenzie-Edwards’ appointment and was confident he would give The Nationals every opportunity for success next year.
“Jake’s breadth and depth of experience with The Nationals in both Victoria and New South Wales will be crucial to our state election campaign next year,” Ms Armstrong said.
“Lyndel will leave the team well prepared for the 2026 state election, having led an exceptional federal campaign this year that delivered a strong Victorian result that defied the nationwide trend.
“Likewise, Jake has a deep understanding of both our party’s values and the issues impacting the lives of regional Victorians.
“I look forward to working alongside Jake as we remain the only party that solely represents regional Victorians in Spring Street.”
