The Nationals’ Member for Mildura, Jade Benham, is encouraging locals to nominate hardworking individuals and organisations for the 2026 Multicultural Awards for Excellence.
The annual awards recognise people and groups who are making significant contributions to strengthening multiculturalism, promoting inclusion and building stronger community connections across Victoria.
The awards are open to both paid and voluntary contributions, with winners to be celebrated at a special ceremony later this year.
Ms Benham said the awards were an opportunity to celebrate the strength and diversity of communities right across the state.
“Multicultural communities are a vital part of our region, and these awards are a chance to recognise the everyday leaders who make Victoria a more inclusive and connected place,” Ms Benham said.
There are 13 award categories, including Arts and Culture, Business and Employment, the Multicultural Honour Roll and the Premier’s Award for Intercultural Connection.
Ms Benham encouraged community members to consider nominating people who are making a difference locally.
“If you know someone who is quietly making a difference – mentoring young people, supporting new arrivals or helping break down barriers then I encourage you to nominate them and help shine a light on their contribution,” Ms Benham said.
Nominations close on 13 July 2026. For more information or to submit a nomination, visit multiculturalcommission.vic.gov.au.
