Dear Editor
The Nationals know we need to stop the waste, end the corruption and get on with the important job of fixing roads, tackling crime and improving the state’s finances.
We’re focused on delivering real cost of living relief while boosting productivity, and we’ve already announced a series of practical policies to do just that.
Firstly, we will scrap the emergency services tax. It’s too expensive for regional Victorians and won’t deliver meaningful support to our CFA and SES volunteers.
Secondly, we will crack down on cost blowouts and corruption on Big Build sites, which have cost Victorians billions of dollars. A Royal Commission and stronger transparency measures will help ensure your money is spent properly and not lost to waste or criminal activity.
We will also pursue tax reform to support a stronger, more sustainable economy, including relief for families and business owners paying ever-growing land and payroll tax.
Importantly, The Nationals will work to rebalance the growing divide between Melbourne and regional Victoria. Too often regional communities miss out on their fair share of infrastructure, services and investment, despite contributing so much to our state.
Regional Victorians deserve a government that listens, respects their contribution, and delivers the services and infrastructure their communities need.
That’s the difference The Nationals will make in government.
