The Nationals have a plan to tackle Victoria’s crime crisis and restore community safety.
We will recruit 3000 additional police, strengthen bail laws to keep serious repeat offenders off our streets, deliver tougher consequences for violent offenders and put victims back at the centre of the justice system.
Every Victorian deserves to feel safe in their home, their community and on their roads. Our plan will give police the resources and powers they need, while investing in practical measures to prevent crime before it happens.
Sadly, Victorians know the Labor Government has failed to deliver the community safety they deserve, with new Premier Ben Carroll a senior minister in a government that let crime run rampant for years.
In recent days, we have seen a family have their car stolen for the second time, while another Victorian was left fighting for his life after being struck by a stolen vehicle.
These are not isolated incidents. They are the result of a government that has failed to keep repeat offenders off our streets and protect innocent Victorians.
Victoria needs a government that will put community safety first and deliver real action.
The Nationals will stop the waste, end the corruption and tackle Victoria’s crime crisis.
