Nationals Member for Ovens Valley Tim McCurdy has called in Parliament for the Andrews Government to resolve doctor shortages across regional Victoria.
Mr McCurdy said in Parliament, “I was recently contacted by a new resident to Wangaratta who moved to the region with her young family, only to be informed that local doctors were no longer taking on new patients.
“To make matters worse, my office is still being inundated with calls on a weekly basis from concerned locals in regional areas.
“This is just unacceptable.”
He continued, “I previously voiced these concerns to the Andrews Government last year and it is now time the Andrews Government do something about it.
“This is not fair on our doctors, nor is it fair on our local residents who need medical assistance and support.”
Mr McCurdy concluded, “Enough is enough, it’s time the Andrews Government address this crisis now.”
