As the only political party focused solely on the regions, we know our communities get hit the hardest by rising costs. Having longer distances to travel and fewer services nearby is a part of our daily lives.
It’s scary watching the petrol pump total climb at record speed. Or looking into your shopping trolley and wondering which items you can do without this week. And right now, families across regional Victoria are making impossible choices between things like filling their tank or their grocery basket.
That’s why regional voices need to be part of the conversation when it comes to tackling cost-of-living pressures. We’re fighting for you, and we want to hear your experience.
Tell us how rising costs are affecting you and your family. By adding your voice, you’re helping us push for real relief and lasting change for our regions.

Used to reckon living away from the city would be cheaper, but not anymore. My mortgage repayments have gone through the roof this past year and fuel costs too. Small businesses here are getting the brunt of it because everyone’s too scared to spend.

I’m a single mum and, honestly, it’s getting stressful. School fees, groceries, electricity… all climbing while pay stays the same. Even fruit and veg are pricey now. My kids love playing footy and it’s getting harder paying so they can do what they love just so we can keep the lights on.

Biggest pain for us is energy and insurance. Our power bill over Christmas was a shocker. Everything else is going up too, so it’s hard to keep ahead. People out in the regions can’t be left out of this chat —–travel costs, fewer services …..it all adds up.

My groceries used to cost me around $150 a week for the family, now it’s pushing $220–$240, and that’s only the essentials. Our power bill keeps going up and petrol isn’t cheap either, especially when you have to drive everywhere in regional areas. It feels like regional families are being squeezed from every direction.
