The Allan Labor Government has lost the trust of 9 in 10 Victorian farmers as revealed by a Victorian Farmers Federation survey.
In Question Time today, the Minister for Agriculture, Ros Spence, refused to explain how sacking more than 200 Agriculture Victoria staff over the past three years would build trust with Victorian producers or help grow Victoria’s $20.1 billion food and fibre export industry.
Deputy Leader of The Nationals and Shadow Minister for Agriculture, Emma Kealy, said the Allan Labor Government has no plan for Victorian agriculture and is out of touch with farmer’s needs.
“You can’t rebuild trust with regional communities while forcing unwanted renewable energy projects on producers, silencing their voices or cut critical services from Agriculture Victoria.”
“Labor can’t manage money and Victorian farmers are paying the price.”
