Labor cut $2 billion from Victoria Police, closed 43 police stations, and have cut 1100 police officers. Our communities are paying the price.

Our plan will re-open police stations, restore police numbers and back frontline officers.

A future Liberal Nationals Government will commit a $100 million plan to help deliver safer communities across the State.

The plan builds on the signature Break Bail, Face Jail policy that is at the heart of the Liberal and Nationals tough on crime approach and will now be complemented by:
– The introduction of Jack’s Law for Victoria
– The establishment of Restart – a Victorian-first residential responsibility and discipline program, and
– Youthstart – Co-ordinated community-based interventions

We will fix Victoria’s broken bail laws with our Break Bail, Face Jail commitment. No more youth exemptions. No more repeat offenders laughing at the law. If you break bail, you face jail

The Liberals and Nationals will ban bikies and organised criminals from taxpayer-funded projects by requiring criminal background checks and creating Construction Enforcement Victoria.

The plan mandates removal of offensive graffiti within 24 hours and all other graffiti within a week to maintain public spaces.

We will legislate to close a legal loophole, ensuring jail for all child sexual offenders without exceptions.

The Liberals and Nationals will outlaw machetes under the Control of Weapons Act to reduce violent assaults, especially involving youth offenders.

This plan is a comprehensive approach to protecting children in care and early childhood settings.

It includes stronger Working with Children Checks, a new Childcare Safety Authority, mandatory training, a public rating system for childcare centres, enhanced background checks for childcare operators, and increased accountability and transparency across the sector.

This policy empowers individuals to access police information about a partner’s violent history, supporting early intervention in family violence.

We will restore bail offences removed by Labor, targeting repeat offenders and ensuring breaching bail conditions results in consequences.
