Jeanette was elected as the Member for Shepparton
in 2002 and previously as the Member for the North Eastern Province
in 1996. Jeanette is the
first female to represent the Nationals in the Victorian Parliament.
She is The Nationals spokeswoman for Local
Government, Planning, Women's Affairs, Multicultural Affairs
and Victorian Communities.
Jeanette migrated from England with her family at the age of ten. She
was educated at Shepparton Girls' Secondary College.
Prior to entering Parliament she had a variety of occupations including
film processor, Television Presenter, singer, marketing and sales office
Manager and Director in the family auto electrical business. She was
also a Local Government Councillor 1990-94 with the Shire of Shepparton,
Shepparton Shire President 1993-94 and after council amalgamations was
a Commissioner with the Shire of Campaspe 1994-96.
Interests include her family, singing, music, reading, gardening and
photography.
Jeanette and her husband Ian have two sons and live on a property at
Kialla.
