Tim McCurdy

Tim is married to Glenys and they have four adult children.

He was elected as The Nationals Member for Murray Valley at the Victorian State election in November 2010. Due to changes in electoral boundaries he was elected MLA for Ovens Valley in November 2014.

Tim has an Advanced Diploma in Agriculture, is the former co- owner-operator of an 1100 cow dairy farm at Cobram East, a graduate of the Australian Rural Leadership Program and was briefly on the executive of the United Dairyfarmers of Victoria.

He was a Rotary Youth Exchange student in 1980 and at 17 years of age travelled to Canada. Tim still credits this time as a significant experience in his life as it developed his involvement and interest in community activities.

Tim was president of the Cobram Barooga Apex Club in 2002 and the chairman of Apex Peaches and Cream festival in 2003.

He was a councillor with Moira Shire from 2008 to 2010 and served as Deputy Mayor from November2008 – to November2009.

Following his election as Member for Murray Valley, Tim served on the Drugs and Crime Prevention Committee, and was on the board of Victoria’s Responsible Gambling Foundation.

As the Member for Ovens Valley he was elected Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Country Schools and Recreation Policy and is the Deputy Chair of the Environment, Natural Resources and Regional Development Committee which is undertaking the Fiskville inquiry.
